About the Pearls of Life
The Pearls of Life™ was born on a Greek island. It was late summer and Bishop Emeritus Martin Lönnebo was travelling around the archipelago. He had recently retired and was taking each day as it came.
"There I was in Greece, thinking about icons, rosary beads and candles, and it hit me that evangelical Christianity doesn’t have any praying tools to help us focus. At the same time, we have never been as unfocused as we are today."
"I wanted the wreath to convey the message of Christian faith in such a way that a modern person could understand and grasp it without difficulty. I also wanted something to put in the hands of people. To be touched. Touch is central to humans, but so neglected in our time when the ear and the eye completely dominate how we receive information."
Eighteen beads. Twelve round, six oblong. Feel the pearls in your hand. Touch them.
Roll them between your fingers, one after another. Relax. What is important in life? What brings happiness? Where is focus in my life? Is it where I want it to be?

This is the start. The Pearls of Life™ is the journey to life. It is not necessarily an easy ride, and initially, we may feel reluctant. Perhaps we can’t hear what the pearls tell us, can’t feel their touch. It doesn’t matter. Stay calm. The Pearls of Life™ is not about doing, it is about being. The pearls make no demands, they only want to be used. Each one in its own way. Through use, their meaning deepen and change.
